The Program Coordinator for International Student Programs reports to the Assistant Director for International Student Programs and is responsible for the development, facilitation, implementation, and evaluation of a wide range of initiatives and programs related to international students to achieve a successful transition and outcomes.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PROGRAMS (100%) - Plan and/or assist with the development and implementation of international student activities, events, and programs designed to support international student adjustment, integration, and success inside and outside the classroom (e.g., U.S. cultural events, international student social and educational events, and pre-orientation activities); - Assist with the development and implementation of the new international student transitions program; - Manage all aspects of Global Ambassador Program including recruitment, training, and assessment; - Assist with facilitation of intercultural trainings, and conduct research towards the development of new intercultural trainings; - Coordinate and attend a wide range of other activities, events, and programs for international students and the campus and broader community; - Collaborate with key campus partners in supporting programs for international students
- Master’s degree in international education, counseling, higher education, student affairs, intercultural communication, or related field; - Understanding and knowledge of international students experience in the U.S, higher education institution; - Demonstrated experience in event planning and budget management; - Demonstrated experience in student leadership programs; - Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment; - Demonstrated experience working and communicating effectively with people from diverse background; - Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team; - Ability to work a flexible schedule, including events and weekends as needed
- Knowledge of best practices for international student programming; - Familiarity with international student immigration regulations; - Fluency in a foreign language; - Experience living or studying abroad
