Global Initiatives: The Global Programs Coordinator, under the general direction of the Director of Education Abroad, and in collaboration with the Education Abroad team, supports Miami’s customized study abroad and away programs and coordinates many aspects of program planning and implementation, including program structure and budgeting, faculty and student outreach, and program evaluation; support faculty and academic units to develop and re-develop programs that are accessible, affordable, and academically rigorous in alignment with institutional strategic goals.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and student leaders of credit and non-credit education abroad and away programs to develop, launch, and manage a large portfolio of effective and strategic academic, internship, and experiential learning opportunities
Consult with program directors about program proposals, recruitment/outreach, application review, pre-departure orientation, on-site logistics and policies
Work with program directors to develop and implement programs and budgets according to university policies and procedures
Support program logistics, the procurement and contract process, and compliance with federal and other requirements
Communicate policies, procedures, and deadlines to students and faculty
Manage all student and program tasks and details through Terra Dotta – StudioAbroad
Coordinate with key stakeholders during program development, promotion, and advising to promote programs and recruit students
Conduct and coordinate study abroad advising toward successful enrollment management and admissions for customized study abroad and away programs
Other duties as assigned
Program planning experience
Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, and proven ability to master new technology
Demonstrated ability to proactively manage complex and multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations of learners and associates
Excellent data management, time management, organization, and communication/writing skills
Position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship
Experience in education abroad faculty led programming, global internships, or student advising
Experience with programming and recruitment strategy to increase diversity in study abroad
Program budget experience
Forum on Education Abroad certification or training
Terra Dotta – StudioAbroad experience
Proven engagement with best practices in field of International Education
Prior experience living and/or studying abroad
