Position Summary: The Cultural Division, Embassy of the State of Kuwait DC office Graduate Department is accepting applications for an Academic Advisor to provide academic advising, and graduate level placement services to Kuwaiti sponsored physicians and dentists who apply for admission to postgraduate medical and dental residency programs in the U.S. and Canada. The Academic Advisor also provides assistance to department director, students and Kuwait sponsoring agencies on issues that are pertinent to successful placement of applicants..
Responsibilities: • Process postgraduate medical and dental applications for Kuwaiti sponsored applicants. • Serve as the liaison between the applicants, universities and Kuwait sponsoring agencies. • Maintain and regularly update applicants’, universities’ and sponsoring agencies’ profiles and contact information.

Minimum Qualifications: Earned Bachelor’s degree and five years’ experience in academic placement and academic counseling at postgraduate level; excellent writing and speaking skills, advance computer skills, and record of working with Microsoft Office.
Minimum Requirements: • Must have 5 years and above professional experience. • Must have up-to-date knowledge of U.S. Higher Education, Immigration rules pertaining to international students/scholars. • Must have the ability to function and perform day-to-day academic advising task in a fast-paced, team-oriented multi-cultural environment. • Position requires strong organizational communication. • Computer literacy including skills with Internet research tools and social media. • Must have excellent interpersonal, teamwork, critical thinking and presentation skills.
