Assists in the design, development, implementation, and management of effective international student recruitment strategies. Will conduct overseas travel and attempt to persuasively communicate/connect with target audiences. Primary Admission liaison to International Services office and the Chapman University Center for Global Education, as well as schools and colleges abroad, community college international student services offices, selected domestic prep schools, international advising agencies, embassies, consulates and international alumni. It will also serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) in compliance with Federal SEVIS and Department of Homeland Security regulations for new international students reporting and visa compliance. Participate in appropriate professional development activities and affiliations.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of 2-5 years direct experience in admissions management and coordination or related duties
Working knowledge of student career and academic advisement principles, methods and procedures
Sensitivity and understanding of individual prospective student and family needs.
Strong presentation skills, ability to develop and maintain processes related to projects and tasks.
Able to demonstrate effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to use tact and diplomacy, including knowledge of and adherence to local and regional cultural eccentricities, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations and evaluate previous coursework/testing.
Knowledge and understanding of a range of student life issues and concerns
Strong analytical skills to evaluate data, assess alternatives and make appropriate decisions and/or recommendations
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office suite applications
Technical skills to learn/use administrative systems including Slate, Transferology, Peoplesoft and ImageNow.
Strong attention to detail.
Special Conditions of Employment: valid driver license; valid passport required, Some extended travel to destinations outside of the U.S.A. Some overnight and weekend travel to designated territories, including possible extended international travel. Some weekend and evening hours.
