The Associate Director, under the general supervision of the Assistant Dean of International Programs, leads the efforts of the global leaders program of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences to support the LAS international student experience and the College’s goal to deepen internationalization and opportunities for intercultural learning opportunities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide instruction, development and assessment of LAS 100 Success in LAS for International Students; Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate undergraduate interns to assist in LAS 100 and LAS 399 Leadership and Professional Development.
Lead efforts to develop, implement and assess global leadership modules for courses and co-curricular activities with LAS faculty and units.
Lead efforts to develop activities and project-based learning opportunities for intercultural competence development. Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate LAS global leaders to assist in activities.
Serve as LAS liaison with all campus partners working on international student support and experiential learning to share best practices and streamline opportunities.
Participate in the shared responsibilities within LAS SAAO, including walk-in advising, academic progress review, planning for and assessment of office impact, and LAS student recruitment-orientation
Create communication and marketing material in conjunction with LAS Communication and Marketing team.
SALARY AND APPOINTMENT INFORMATION
This is a full-time academic professional position appointed on a 12-month service basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the closing date. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Master’s Degree, preferably in the fields of International Education or Liberal
Arts and Sciences.
One year of experience in international education, intercultural communication, advising or related student support role;
One year of classroom teaching experience;
Experience supporting international students to succeed in a higher education context;
Project management experience;
Experience with international study, living, and/or travel.
Experience working with international students in a higher education context;
Experience developing an intercultural skills training program or program that promotes meaningful intercultural engagement on higher ed campus;
Experience in course development;
Experience in program development;
Experience assessing program impact or assessing intercultural skills development;
Leadership development knowledge or experience;
Experience facilitating transition of new international students to college and campus;
Experience developing marketing materials, procedure manuals and forms;
Demonstrated knowledge of intercultural learning;
Excellent attention to detail;
Demonstrated effective public speaking skills;
Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills;
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and also to work independently;
Demonstrated ability and commitment to working with culturally diverse groups;
Fluency in a foreign language.
