UC International is looking for a Business Systems Analyst to join their team in the International Services Office. UC International is the university-wide unit, within the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs & Provost, for serving international students and scholars, education abroad students, as well as the development of the university's international strategic planning. This position will support the University’s mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all other activities.
Description: The selected candidate will be responsible for advancing the capabilities of international student and scholar case management and institutional data. For international student and scholar services this means developing and advancing the capabilities of Sunapsis, a compliance system that interfaces with the Student Exchange and Visitor Information System (SEVIS). Internally this system is branded as “iBearcatsGlobal” and is a core University system. Institutionally, it means analyzing and coordinating institutional information and data for the University of Cincinnati System for Managing Institutional Collaborations (UCosmic). The position will report directly to the Director of International Services.
This position is for a three year appointment with the possibility of re-appointment based on mutual agreement and continued funding.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the development, implementation, support, and assessment of the Sunapsis software system to be optimized for UC International Services staff, university departments, and students and scholar users. This includes developing test plans for feature enhancements and providing end-user training on new releases moved to production
Manage, design, and create secure batching of data from Sunapsis to the SEVIS system, as well as data feeds from the student information system (PeopleSoft) and HR system (SAP-Success Factors)
Oversees creation and maintenance of Sunapsis web forms (eForms), alerts and checklists to efficiently gather needed information essential for providing international services.
Provide daily technical and production support, monitor updates, and upgrades, identify critical issues, liaising as needed with vendors, and working with UC International Services staff to ensure compliance with data entry protocols.
Oversee the creation and maintenance of modules and data input for UCosmic.
Provide ongoing data-informed reports and assessments of both systems.
Perform related duties based on department need.
Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years experience; -OR- Associate’s degree with seven (7) years experience; -OR- nine (9) years experience.
Degree must be in business administration or related field. Experience must be in business, fiscal or human resources programs and include three years supervision.
Experience working in the Higher Education field in general, and more specifically in International Student and Scholar Services operations.
Knowledge of SQL, C#.net (C-sharp), Java, Coldfusion, and XML Technologies.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a complex and dynamic work environment.
