Serves as Immigration Manager in the Immigration Compliance & Services Office with institutional oversight responsibilities. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions of immigration services and immigration compliance. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and/or students.
Under the direction of the Managing Director:
Serves as Immigration Manager in Immigration Compliance & Services with institutional oversight responsibilities.
Assists in the preparation and processing of non-immigrant and immigrant petitions including H-1B, E-3, TN, O-1, EB-1, EB-2 and EB-3 filings.
Coordinates with departmental contacts and foreign national to obtain necessary documentation for immigration filings and immigration compliance.
Act as first contact for departments, employees and candidates with immigration questions.
Serve as Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for the Exchange Visitor (J-1/J-2) program and assist or lead Exchange Visitor orientation.
Maintain immigration case management databases and ensure records are complete. Establish and maintain electronic records for each international employee and visitor.
Assist in maintenance of all compliance records including LCA Public Access Files; PERM Audit Files; and I-9/E-Verify records
Complete I-9 and E-Verify for international employees, when required.
Liaise with institutional and system partners and stakeholders on matters related to international employees, international business visitors, and exchange visitors.
Maintain and cultivate necessary contact with appropriate government agencies, departments and sponsors as needed to support international employees and exchange visitors.
May supervise interns and junior staff.
US citizenship or lawful permanent residence require per federal immigration regulations.
Occasional duties and projects including intra-departmental HR projects.
Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years of experience in US employment immigration, especially H-1B filings.
Experience with E-3, O-1, TN and employment-based permanent residence is beneficial but not required.
Demonstrated knowledge of exchange visitor regulations
Familiarity with F-1 regulations is helpful (but not required)
Prior experience as a DSO or ARO (SEVIS) is helpful
General knowledge of federal immigration compliance and reporting requirements.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a time-sensitive environment with multiple deadlines.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds
Firm proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Bachelor's degree and four years of employment immigration experience.
Experience with Banner and immigration data management software.
Self-directed and motivated
Active engagement with NAFSA, AILA or other professional immigration or international education organization.

Minimum Hire Rate
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. Minimum compensation for qualified candidates is $4000/month.
