This individual will support the international enrollment management goals of UNC Charlotte colleges to identify high-quality and diverse international graduate students. The position will provide assistance to faculty, researchers and administrators to formulate strategic and intentional activities aimed at recruiting Ph.D and Masters level international students. The primary role of this position, in collaboration with the academic colleges and the Graduate School, will be to assist in the development and execution a multi-year international enrollment management plan proposal in addition to a host of support services that will assist in the development of partnerships, connections and pipelines between UNC Charlotte colleges/faculty and entities from abroad (institutions, organizations and sponsors). This individual will also understand recruitment trends, market characteristics/intelligence and emerging regions best positioned to send degree seeking graduate students to the U.S Partnership Development and Management: Description: Liaise with relevant internal and external partners in joint/collaborative recruitment initiatives. Marketing/Promotion: Description: Develop a targeted outreach/communication plan for international alumni engagement. Increase market awareness of the UNC Charlotte brand in each identified region to further diversify international student population.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
-Bachelor's degree and six years of professional experience in international higher education administration (preferably in international student recruitment (degree-seeking) or international admissions;
-Three years of professional experience developing and managing international higher education networks and partnerships,
-Exceptional interpersonal, intercultural, organizational and communication skills: both written and verbal; -Provide excellent and timely customer service to prospective international students as well as stakeholders; -High level of motivation, initiative and goal oriented; -Knowledge of trends in international student recruitment and emerging student markets; -Well developed understanding and awareness of best practices in international student recruitment; -Strong ability to develop and sustain relationships across various campus constituencies engaged in international student enrollment management; -Extremely organized and detail-oriented with an ability to succeed in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; -Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally; -Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion; -Strong computing skills and expertise utilizing computing applications with various university systems; -Commitment to a student-centered/customer service-oriented philosophy
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Relevant experience in the development, implementation and monitoring of a comprehensive plan for international student recruitment; -Relevant experience in administering sponsored international student programs; -Experience in using information technologies to enhance and support all aspects of recruitment and admissions management processes; -Familiarity with a variety of English Language Proficiency Tests including the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) -Knowledge and experience in working with foreign credential evaluation; -Existing relationships with governments, agents and consultants abroad; -Advanced level of proficiency in at least one foreign language; -Previous experience living or working abroad; -Record of active participation/engagement in relevant professional associations.
Supervision Received: This position reports directly to the assistant provost for international programs.
