Assists with the management of the FIU Business Office of Global Initiatives department and team members supporting the strategic planning, development, implementation, and management of international collaborations and projects between the College and foreign Universities.
Manages global regional structure and oversees international agreements including but not limited to graduate and undergraduate dual degree, exchange and study abroad, non-degree seeking inbound, and memorandums of understanding as well as agreement amendments as applicable.
Serves as a point of contact for international collaboration agreements and on any matter directed to upper management by the College of Business and University as well as community constituencies in the area of global initiatives.
Identifies and analyzes complex challenges related to international agreements, program development and implementation, as well as departmental procedures. Assists with planning, overseeing special projects, compiling reports, researching, and analyzing specific operational procedures and solving issues that arise. Assesses implications of decisions to be made and acts accordingly.
Recommends, implements and interprets policies related to administrative and fiscal activities. Applies University, departmental and other approved policy and procedures to area of responsibility.
Manages and tracks outcomes of promotional outreach to FIU students for outbound programs and prospective incoming international agreement students.
Develops and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the program structure to ensure quality and educational value in promotions, communications, events, and activities.
Oversees team project logistics, including communications, budgets, timelines and schedules of activities for incoming international agreement business students. Projects include, but are not limited to welcome sessions, as well as, professional, social and cultural events.
Initiates and maintains relationships with internal and external constituents, by understanding and assessing international university representatives and inbound/outbound students¿ needs, to achieve desired outcomes. Acts as a liaison between upper management and works with team on progress and work issues.
Assists with budget planning and maintains fiscal responsibility for all program/department activities. Reviews accounts payable/receivable transactions, ensuring appropriate allocation of funds across program/departmental budget(s).
Collaborates with the College's Human Resources Department and serves as a point of contact for the recruitment, hiring, retention and performance of departmental faculty, staff, and other personnel.
Manages and reconciles departmental expenses including travel and other expenses using University credit card. Assures compliance and adherence to University credit card policies and procedures. Submits requisitions and receives goods or services against purchase orders; creates travel authorizations, expense reports, through the University's financial system. May process contracts in accordance with University purchasing guidelines.
Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of appropriate experience, or Master's degree and two (2) years of experience.
Experience drafting and reviewing contract agreements.
Ability to interact with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Strong aptitude in computer skills.
Strong communication skills (oral and written).
International travel experience (Europe, Asia , and Latin America and the Caribbean preferred).
Knowledge of academic programs.
Ability to travel internationally.
Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends and at locations outside of the University
