The international student recruiter will be responsible for developing and implementing the international recruitment strategies set forth by the Enrollment management and International Affairs Office. The international student recruiter will conduct trend analysis with a team to determine a focused international region; formulate action plans based on the analysis. Assist the enrollment management and international affairs team for strategy and enrollment in assessing and prioritizing global markets for current and future international recruitment. Perform academic credential evaluations of prospective international students. Work in conjunction with different units/departments staff and leadership to integrate the results of analysis and planning into the University's overall international enrollment plan.
The international student recruiter will travel, primarily internationally and some local events, to represent the University of Louisville at recruitment/education fairs, high schools, recruitment and government agencies, and partner institutions. The International student coordinator will discuss policies/procedures required for international admission, housing, scholarships/financial aid with international prospective students, families and counselors. Demonstrate self-direction, creativity and strategic thinking in prospect development, yield enhancement activities, information services and problem resolution.
The international student recruiter will develop and implement a communication plan for prospective students (and their families/sponsors) and maintain effective communication throughout the recruitment and application process including extensive and timely correspondence via phone, SKYPE, e-mail, direct mail and social media. Make presentations to large and small groups of international prospective students/families, on and off-campus, about the opportunities available at UofL; give campus tours when needed.
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; organizational and interpersonal skills; strict attention to details are necessary. Demonstrated ability to work with faculty, students, and staff; self-motivated, goal-oriented, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to relate to people of all age groups, academic abilities and diverse cultures. Demonstrated experience with technology (PeopleSoft, social media, MS- office, SLATE-CRM etc).
International student coordinator will assist with daily office operations including answering phones, responding to email, greeting and providing counsel to prospective international students, families and guests to meet our customer service goals. The coordinator will participate in the development and execution of on and off-campus recruitment, conversion and yield activities/events designed to market the University of Louisville to prospective international freshman (and transfer) and graduate students.
