Whittle School & Studios seeks a Boarding Admissions Specialist to join a dynamic and talented admission and enrollment team at our Washington DC campus. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the enrollment process and financial aid stewardship, have demonstrated success in program management, and deep knowledge of the greater DC private school landscape. A willingness to consider and implement original and atypical solutions that go beyond traditional admission norms will be a crucial approach that matches the innovative nature of the organization.
Provide strategic and executive leadership, management, and support for a team of admission and marketing colleagues at the campus level
Collaborate with global enrollment leadership and both global and local finance departments to articulate enrollment goals, discounts, and tuition waiver policy
Lead the development, implementation, communication, and ongoing assessment of comprehensive and strategic enrollment plans, admissions publications and marketing initiatives at the campus level
Provide strategic leadership in directing marketing activities, including marketing communications, public relations, admission events, market research and analysis, and maintenance of the prospective student and lead database(s)
Conceives, develops and oversees innovative marketing programs that drive market awareness (industry buzz/voice) and demand for the school’s programs and offerings;
Engage in a data-driven approach to problem solving and decision-making and facilitate best practices in enrollment management and student success by sharing information that accurately represents the perceptions of our school
Ensure the efficient processing of admissions applications by developing and administering policies, procedures, financial aid processes, international student services, and systems that provide quality admission services to prospective students and ensure proper documentation is received and evaluated prior to acceptance and enrollment
Oversee the acceptance process, including reading, evaluating, and deciding on applicants for admission, awarding acceptance
Obtain and maintain knowledge on all academic programs within the school in order to convey this information clearly and accurately to prospective applicants and admitted students, particularly in converting admits into matriculates
Manage the re-enrollment procedures for the returning students
Other duties assigned
Extensive Travel – upwards of 60% travel in select regions around the globe except Asia
Develop a strategic plan to recruit students nationally and internationally
Introduce Whittle School & Studios to educational consultants and agents, middle school administrators, students and families regionally, nationally and internationally
Serve as an important representative during school recruitment events, parent information sessions, conferences, and school visits
Provide support and assistance to families in the admission pipeline
Admission Process Management:
Provide quality oversight of candidate evaluation processes via written communication to families culminating with the release of decision letters
Develop and nurture relationships with key educational agents in key markets
Manage and coordinate appropriate staff in the scheduling of interviews, assessments, and testing via communication with prospective parents, applicants, professional assessors and faculty colleagues
Manage multiple admission associates as related to their specific duties in the evaluation and assessment process.
Collaboratively consider, update, and provide quality control over application forms, evaluations and assessments, and internal review procedures
Coordinate and preside over Admission Committee meetings
Based on experience, provide possible administrative oversight of the need-based financial assistance program
5+ years of on-campus boarding school experience
5+ years experience in boarding school admissions and residential recruitment
Extensive experience in international student recruitment outside of Asia
Extensive knowledge of the K-12 international education marketplace
Extensive knowledge of the business engagement process of national and international agents, consultants and education professionals
A passion for education
Familiarity with admission databases and ability to become an expert in SAO and a Customer Relations Management program
Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills
Collaborative and supportive, creative, detail-oriented, self-motivated and flexible
Willing to work beyond traditional office hours, including evening and weekend event and able to tackle additional projects on an “as-needed” basis
Understanding of financial aid practices in K-12 environment

By 2025, we plan to open 30 campuses serving children ages 3 to 18 in the world’s most vibrant cities.
