Job Description Summary: The Graduate Assistant for Global Program Development will work closely with the Director of Global Program Development to support global programs initiative, faculty mobilityincluding faculty-led study abroad programs, and to assist with special projects. The Director of Global Program Development provides strategic leadership and direction for the development and launch of global academic programs across all Webster University schools and colleges. Global program initiatives include, but are not limited to, establishing study abroad programming at international campuses and partners, developing short-term faculty led study opportunities, positioning St. Louis as a study abroad destination for Webster extended site students, and launching international dual degree programs.
Minimum Qualifications Term of appointment: 2019-2020 academic year Must be accepted to a graduate program at Webster University Must enroll in 9 credit hours of graduate courses per semester Must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA Must demonstrate relationship of work to academic benefit Hours of Work:Not to exceed 20 hours per week Payment: $13.00 per hour on a bi-weekly basis Scholarship: Equivalent to 50% of graduate tuition for 9 credit hours per semester at on-ground rate; scholarship is non-taxable.
Preferred Qualifications Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of university constituents and partners Proactive and highly motivated with strong work ethic; able to work independently with minimal supervision Close attention to detail Professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality Creative and collaborative thinker with an eagerness to learn Critical analysis and research skills; proven research experience a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook Experience with Photoshop and InDesign a plus Fluency in English required; second language proficiency preferred Demonstrated previous international experience Preferred Majors/Degrees: Education and Innovation; Multimodal Literacy for Global Impact; International Relations; Business Administration; Advertising and Marketing
Essential Duties Develop expert knowledge of faculty mobility program policies and processes to provide accurate information to inquiring faculty and to provide administrative support to the programs Provide project support to the Director of Global Program Development Collaborate and communicate effectively with local and international faculty, staff, community members, and external partners to facilitate progress on global program initiatives Assist in the design and distribution of global program publicity and materials Liaise with the Office of Study Abroad and international campuses on promoting new global programs initiatives Assist with special events including advance coordination and on-site support. Events might include, but is not limited to, faculty workshops (webinar and face-to-face), international Webster and visiting faculty lectures, community outreach and social events. Develop expert knowledge of Terra Dotta (online study abroad application and tracking software) and provide technical support during open faculty mobility application cycles Assist with Global Program Development website updates Maintain a library of faculty resources related to education abroad Conduct research and analysis on topics related to international mobility and education abroad Develop agendas for international visitors including international Webster faculty and visiting lecturers Lead adhoc projects as assigned
