Fontbonne University, a Catholic coeducational institution of higher education located in St. Louis, Missouri, is seeking an experienced leader to become the next Vice President for Enrollment Management/Marketing.
A member of the President's Cabinet and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President is a senior level professional who works collaboratively with members of the President's staff to coordinate, implement and evaluate the university's strategic recruitment initiatives. The Vice President is responsible for developing and implementing overall marketing/enrollment strategy to advance the university's mission and to support student recruitment and retention efforts. The Vice President oversees and coordinates all marketing and communication efforts with the Associate VP for Marketing and Communications. The Vice President will work with faculty, staff and administration, and specifically with the departments of athletics and financial aid, to set and achieve specific enrollment goals.
The incumbent in this position has formal supervisory responsibility for the Associate Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Director of Admissions, Director of Financial Aid, a Communications Coordinator and the Director of International Affairs, and collaborates closely with the Director of Athletics. Enrollment Management is closely tied to university retention efforts, and the Vice President is expected to be a collaborative partner in those efforts.
Essential areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
Lead the effort in student recruitment (traditional, non-traditional, graduate, and international) and financial aid policies and awards to meet recruitment and retention goals;
Develop, implement and evaluate innovative strategies for the recruitment and admission of students in collaboration with faculty partners and the institutional research office, while also utilizing modern information technology solutions, including a Customer Relationship Management system (“CRM”), to reach and track potential students;
Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer, in particular, and other executive officers in preparing need-based and merit-aid policies that meet federal and state regulations and institutional policies and budget expectations;
Provide direction and expertise of the strategic role of marketing in relationship to enrollment management and the understanding of the linkage of financial aid to student enrollment and retention.
Candidates should have a proven track record of success in the recruitment of students, preferably in the small to medium private college and university market. She/he should be a creative and critical thinker and have experience in developing strategic vision for enrollment efforts and success in meeting goals.

A record of progressively responsible management and leadership experience, combined with a strong team orientation and the proven ability to enlist and delegate to high-performing personnel.
A track record of success in engaging faculty and student affairs staff members in collaborative efforts to fulfill the common goal of student success.
Ability to understand and assist in implementation of marketing strategies to increase and retain undergraduate and graduate enrollment, including an understanding of the use of a CRM system.
Knowledge of regulatory, professional, and ethical guidelines in enrollment management, financial aid and international student recruiting to ensure compliance with University, state and federal rules and regulations.
