Successful applicants will be highly motivated and dedicated educators with expertise in ESL with experience working with international and multi-lingual learners. As part of a newly established institute, successful applicants will develop curriculum and teach ESL courses within three programs: Academic Success Program, Corporate Training Program and the Community Education Program.
This position will be responsible for:
• Maintain accurate and up to date academic records • Teaching hours are 20 hours per week • Administrative tasks, office hours for tutoring and class preparation is 20 hours per week • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons to a range of classes and age groups • Prepare and set tests, examination papers and exercises • Mark and provide appropriate feedback on written work • Devise, write and produce new materials, including audio and visual resources • Attend and contribute to faculty meeting • Participate in committees as needed
Applicants should address in their cover letter the following areas of expertise, if any:
• Taught courses and/or developed courses in Business English or other specialized English courses (Hotel and Hospitality, Finance, etc.) • Taught courses in Academic English • Taught courses and/or developed courses online using LMS (Blackboard, Canvas or Moodle) • Taught courses and/or designed courses for developmental math or high school level math • Designed/coordinated testing and assessment for ESL programs
• Native-like proficiency • Experience teaching/designing curriculum online • 5+ years minimum international teaching experience • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to maintain professionalism with staff, faculty and students at all times. • MA in a related field (TESOL, Education, Applied Linguistics) from a western accredited institute is required
