Millsaps College is looking to hire a Coordinator of International Education. The individual’s primary responsibility is to assist the Director of International Education in supporting Millsaps nationally recognized faculty/staff-led study abroad classes and programs, assuring compliance with best practices and supporting students in all facets of their international experience from advising and registration through return. The Coordinator oversees the day-to-day activity of the Office of International Education serving as key liaison between multiple campus departments, students and faculty. Additional responsibilities include managing exchange with our third-party providers, coordinating with the Director to carry out promotion of educational abroad activities including providing content for social media and maintaining websites, and supporting the Director in assessment and strategic planning of programs and initiatives. The Coordinator of International Education also serves as Designated School Official (DSO) for F-1in order to prepare, process and maintain immigration records of F-1 and visa holders. They will have to complete training on J-1 visas to liaise with ISEP program.
A Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated progressively responsible work in an international education office or related field for 3 years is required and a Master’s degree is preferred. The applicant must be a US citizen or permanent resident per federal regulations governing immigration official (e.g., DSO and ARO) eligibility. The successful applicant should have experience in international program administration, including project coordination and oversight, data analysis, risk management and compliance. Demonstrated budgeting experience with the ability to compile and summarize expenditures and monitor and follow college budgeting processes. Ability to handle stressful interactions. Familiarity with international student services and immigration (F-1) knowledge. Proficiency in a second language.
