This position will provide in depth advising to international students regarding F regulations and UTD policy and procedures; general advising on other categories and DACA regulations. Will certify eligibility for immigration benefits for F students, including I-20 issuance, OPT/CPT, Economic Hardship, Reinstatement, etc. Will work within a team to report SEVIS data to USCIS. Requires ability to research and apply evolving immigration regulations to student-specific situations and ability. Requires facility with multiple technologies, and ability to adapt to new developments in technology used for the position.
Additionally, will manage team of student employees assisting the immigration team.
-Responsible for all day-to-day functions related to international student advising and DHS benefit issuance, including advanced/complex cases -Organize and provide immigration workshops aimed at students, staff and faculty -Be available to ISSO and other department staff as immigration resource -Provide training and support to new advising staff -Participate in team & individual projects to support the efficiency, effectiveness, and responsible services of the ISSO. -Keep abreast of evolving DHS regulations and procedures, UTD policies and procedures and technological skills. -Potential for student employee supervision duties. -Other duties as assigned.skills. -Potential for student employee supervision duties. -Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree and at least two years working as a Department of Homeland Security Designated School Official in a higher education international office, working with DHSSEVIS reporting requirements, F and/or J Programs, and case management and advising relating to regulatory compliance; OR the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience totaling at least six years.
