The Kofi Annan Institute for Global Citizenship at Macalester College seeks to hire a Study Away Data and Finance Specialist. This position works collaboratively with Study Away and International Student Programs staff to support students who are crossing borders and navigating new cultural contexts, seeking opportunities for collaboration in order to offer integrated intercultural opportunities for all students.
This position provides advising and support for students throughout their study away experience and provides highly effective and efficient financial management in support of Study Away's mission, programs and services; facilitates communication regarding programmatic costs to campus offices, parents and students; supports Macalester's international risk management efforts; promotes scholarship opportunities; ensures timely payment of bills related to off-campus study; provides accurate budget summaries and projections to Business and Finance and Financial Aid; and collects and reports data related to study away to internal and external constituents.
This position does require occasional evening and weekend work.
Provides comprehensive study away advising for an assigned portfolio of programs
Coordinates processing of all study away payments
Provides accurate cost and billing information for students, Financial Aid, and Student Accounts
Promotes scholarship opportunities and oversees internal scholarship application processes
Supports Macalester Study Away risk management goals by implementing the international travel insurance program and coordinating travel registration using Terra Dotta Software for Study Abroad
Engages in and promotes Macalester’s culture of diversity and inclusion, encompassing individuals of any heritage, identity, status or orientation.

Required Qualifications include:
One to three years of relevant work experience (or equivalent) in professional or educational setting that that requires regular use of critical thinking, active listening, creative problem solving skills.
Significant intercultural living experience.
Professional familiarity with accounting and budgeting
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and diversity.
Preferred qualification include:
Master's degree in relevant field
Proficiency in at least one language other than English
