Weill Cornell Graduate School is seeking interested candidates for the role of PDSO/Student Services Administrator. This role provides a unique opportunity for an international education administrator who seeks a position that combines inbound immigration advisement with student life support services for the broader Graduate School population.
This role will:
Manage all international student onboarding and exit processes including generating I-20s, drafting visa support letters, supporting OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, etc.
Ensure all WCM international students remain are in compliance with SEVP guidelines.
Maintain WCM international student statuses in SEVIS database.
Partner with colleagues at WCM Legal Counsel, Cornell University Office of International Services, and others to maintain compliance with local, national, and institutional policies.
Manage & maintain student records related to immigration status.
Advise/assist students with issues related to international status (i.e. visa, tax, and travel).
Attend national and local immigration and SEVIS related conferences and workshops.
Assist with planning, coordinating and executing multiple Graduate School events and activities, including orientation, commencement/convocation, etc.
Oversee the School's social media calendar
Coordinate a monthly School-wide newsletter
Serve as the point person for any student related issues, including Housing, student government, student clubs, etc.
Assist with graduate enrollment management and recruitment responsibilities as needed.
SEVIS database experience highly desired
Higher education experience in a student support or service area.
Demonstrated organizational skills, multi-tasking, prioritization, critical thinking, analysis, and decision-making.
Flexibility to adapt to a complex and dynamic work environment.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and database applications.
Interest in international student issues, desire and ability to keep abreast of regulations, and skill and comfort in communicating with international students.
Understanding of the job market for biomedical science doctoral graduates as well as the skills necessary to succeed at these jobs
