The Assistant Director of Study Away undertakes various administrative roles and responsibilities within the Global Learning program at Concordia College to advance the global awareness, perspective, and engagement of students, faculty, and staff through semester and short-term study away. The Assistant Director works within a four-person team of professionally prepared international and experiential educators and performs multiple tasks within these areas of activity:
Manage and develop semester away programming, partner relations, and budgets.
Advise and support students through all stages of the semester away experience.
Contribute to team-based short-term study away program development.
Manage Terra Dotta online services for program participants and partners.
Participate in team-based risk management operations and resource stewardship.
Create marketing plans and materials in cooperation with campus colleagues.
Work with student workers to promote program participation.
Serve as campus representative for global learning scholarship programs.
Report to Director of Global Learning.
Two years of experience in study away programming or related administration in higher education.
Familiarity with other countries and cultures through study abroad or other international experience.
Understanding of intercultural learning and study away program design and outcomes.
Demonstrated success promoting and recruiting for study away or related learning.
Experience establishing successful relationships with students and faculty.
Post-graduate degree in a related field.
Proficiency in a world language.
Active commitment to inclusive excellence and experience working with diverse students.
Knowledge of best practices in program design, health, safety, and risk management for study away.
Experience with online and hybrid learning formats.
