The Executive Director for India Academic Engagement reports to the Associate Vice President for Global Affairs. This position is responsible for assisting in identifying, developing, promoting and implementing a wide range of programs. These programs include but are not limited to, the University of Arizona affiliated high school programs, early college education programs, and dual degree programs.
The Executive Director for India Academic Engagement will assist in identifying and working with capable partners in India to establish and execute collaborations, enhancing the UA presence in India, and increasing the Indian student population in Tucson campus.
The Executive Director will work with UA Global, faculty and staff across campus, international partners, alumni and scholars, and other regional experts to identify resources, support and cooperation that will lead to successful implementation of regional programs, creating a network of support for sustainable growth and development, as well as effective support for the success of students from India.

Duties & Responsibilities
Program Development and Engagement
Collaborate with Arizona Global staff, UA faculty and researchers, partner institutions, and appropriate administrative units at the UA to identify and pursue opportunities with agencies and organizations in India.
In support of the UA strategic plan, help to implement the regional development plan that secures new opportunities for collaborative research, student and scholar mobility, and innovative projects and partnerships.
Review and identify existing initiatives and experts at the UA in India and develop and coordinate an active internal network of regional expertise
Provide supervision and direction to in-country personnel.
Represent the UA in a positive and engaging manner to ensure positive working relationships with key stakeholders in the region, including partner universities, students, potential applicants, program staff, government institutions and ministries, and the broader public
As part of a team, work to develop and implement an appropriate marketing and communication strategy for UA engagement in the region
Coordinate with the International Admissions Office to develop a diverse plan for student recruitment efforts in the region
Assist, in appropriate circumstances and in coordination with the Office of General Counsel and Global Travel, with the assessment of legal and security risks and regulations related to UA activities in India
Utilize dedicated software systems to manage and share international partnership information and potential opportunities within the respective region with relevant units and the regional network at UA
Streamline procedures for developing international partnership initiatives in collaboration with the appropriate staff members in Arizona Global
Collaborate with the AVP and appropriate Arizona Global staff to conduct assessment and annual reporting on activity related to partnerships
Attend all Arizona Global Staff meetings
Serve as member of committees/task forces as required
Contribute to the collaborative planning and execution of UA strategic priorities
Represent UA locally, nationally and internationally, as needed
Maintain currency in field through professional development. Attend conferences and workshops as appropriate on a rotating basis (e.g. NAFSA: Association of International Educators, IC3, and other national/international organizations, as appropriate)
Participate, as possible, in Arizona Global events

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Minimum of 7 years of related work experience, including 3 years of managerial experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Master’s degree in a relevant field
Experience with university and college systems, program development, and cultural protocols in the U.S. and abroad within the identified region
Fluency in a foreign language represented in the region
Ten years combined working experience in region.
Experience in effectively working across disciplines, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration
