Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business is searching for an Associate Director of MS Admissions. This is a dynamic opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing essential support by defining recruitment opportunities through the identification of major market segments and assisting in developing strategies to accomplish stated recruitment goals for MS programs.

Core responsibilities will include:

• Leads recruiting for MS Admissions by developing and maintaining an overall plan to yield high-potential, diverse and pipeline candidates. Determines how to use alumni in the recruiting process. Ensures that written plans are in place that include outcome measures

• Directs recruitment activities and business operations that relate to recruiting/yielding activities, including the creation and maintenance of recruiting calendar and codified recruitment plan. Ensures that events are being promoted through various channels (including the Tepper website, GMAC calendars, City of Pittsburgh calendars, etc.)

• Manages recruitment budget, creating post-event reports that capture attendance, cost and return on investment for each event. Incorporates survey feedback to make relevant event improvements as needed

• Oversees management of Student Ambassadors and alumni volunteers.

• Oversees all event-related activities to ensure that event meets objectives and is carried out at a high level of professionalism.

• Conducts benchmarking analysis of peer and competitor MS programs.

• Represents MS Programs at national and international student recruitment events. Manages recruitment staffing and ensures that the School is represented at events on panels, with School presentations and Meet Ups as much as possible to increase the program's visibility and attract higher quality applicants.

• Works with Executive Director and Director of Admissions Operations to set admissions operations strategy for MS Admissions, including the management of application deadlines, notifications dates and deposit due dates for all MS program candidates.

• Evaluates applications and serves as member of the Admissions Committee. This includes: Analyzing and synthesizing a large amount of often conflicting data (including undergraduate transcript, test scores, professional history, letters of recommendation, extracurricular involvement, essays, and interview report), in an effort to select the best applicants for admission. Conducting evaluative interviews with applicants to gauge their suitability for the program.

• Works with Executive Director to set an integrated marketing and communications strategy and associated marketing tactics to realize objectives of MS Program Admissions. Works with Executive Director to ensure admissions marketing tactics align with the Tepper School's brand identity and messages.

• Leads MS admissions marketing activities and business operations that relate to print, digital and social initiatives, including the creation and maintenance of a marketing calendar and codified marketing tactics. Ensures that appropriate programs and events are being promoted through various channels (including the Tepper website, and social media accounts, Poets & Quants, Clear Admit, GMAC, BusinessWeek, etc.).

• Works with Marketing & Communications team as it relates to all aspects of marketing for the MS programs, including the strategic direction and tactics of digital and other advertising campaigns. Provides feedback to marketing on campaign content. Coordinates, with Director of Marketing, the integration of these activities with the Slate system, including email communications plan. Will ensure tracking and measurement is captured in Slate, as appropriate, and will report on the outcomes to inform subsequent campaigns.

• Serves in project management role in working the Tepper School's marketing team for the development of key marketing collateral (print, web, social media) - MS program brochure, event collateral, MS Admissions website content, Countdown site, MS admit packet, and other promotional material to ensure delivery of pieces on a timetable that enable admissions to most effectively use the materials.

• Organizes incoming student focus groups that provide insights in the recruiting experience students have with Tepper. Provides a summary of focus group conversation and shares with key partners and identifies action items for the admissions team for the MS program.

• Annually, and in preparation for summer/fall recruiting, lead the creation of appropriate presentations and talking points to ensure that key messages are consistently being communicated to prospective students. Share key information with office staff to provide them with the same information as they interact with candidates.

• Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required

• 5-8 years of experience in academic admissions and/or academic recruiting required
