Reporting to the Dean for Global Engagement and International Programs, the Managing Director is a critical team member in achieving the mission of excellent student experiences while growing the number of students involved in international education at MSU. The Managing Director is responsible for the oversight and compliance of study abroad programs for MSU students, international travel compliance of community members engaging in Montana State University funded, sponsored, and affiliated programs. The Managing Director further oversees global partnerships.

• Oversee Study Abroad Marketing and Outreach by designing, developing and implementing marketing campaigns designed to the promote MSU study abroad programs and international education opportunities
• Manage Study Abroad Student Mobility and Recruitment, including advising students and processing applications for outgoing study abroad and exchange students
• Manage Study Abroad information systems, consortium memberships, and exchange partnerships
• Oversee maintenance of MSU Study Abroad and Travel Compliance Website
• Represent the Office of International Programs on various committees
• Provide leadership and budget direction for Study Abroad and Travel Compliance team within the Office of International Programs
• Ensure compliance with the MUS International Travel Policy on the MSU-Bozeman campus.
• Serve as the SuperUser on the international travel monitoring database system, providing support and training to campus users.
• Oversee Terra Dotta travel registration and monitoring system for the Bozeman campus; answer user questions and provide training for faculty and staff as needed.
• Liaise with Terra Dotta to stay up to date on system updates
• Assess requests from faculty/staff for global partnerships, determining what type of partnership is needed, what is currently in place and how best to move forward.
• Establish and maintain institutional relationships with global exchange partners.

1. Bachelor’s degree in foreign language and literature, business or international business, sociology, history, or global area focus or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
2. Demonstrated marketing experience including development of strategic marketing plans as well as conceptualizing and designing effective promotional and marketing tools in a variety of media (web-based, print, video, radio).
3. Demonstrated experience developing, managing, and hitting program budgets.
4. Demonstrated experience presenting to a wide variety of audiences.
5. Demonstrated experience in website design, including layout, content, blogs, etc. including use of graphic design software (e.g., In Design, CS4, or Photo Shop)
